Choose for a life, not a label.
Fibres have different performance needs. Cotton may suit one use; wool, linen, regenerated cellulosics or synthetics may suit another. The more useful question is whether the material and construction fit the garment’s job, can tolerate care, and can remain in use.
Construction matters.
Seams, trims, coatings, elastane blends and hardware all influence durability and the options available at end of use. A well-made simple garment is often easier to repair and sort than one with many bonded, blended or decorative layers.
Care is design.
Wash less when appropriate, follow care labels, air-dry where practical, and repair early. These are not universal rules—hygiene, climate and access vary—but care can be one way to extend useful life.
